FTE: On call

ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible

HOURS OF WORK: 

8 and/or 12 hour shifts - Rotation
Maybe required to work at St. Joseph Community Center when needed
Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible take out, distribute, retrieve, assemble, verify, analyze and file patient charts for patients who are hospitalized or seen in the emergency department and external clinics. He/she is also responsible for filing of loose sheets in the patients’ chart as well as purging and numbering of clinical records. Must also perform reception duties, answering telephones and follow-up on disclosure requests in the evenings, weekends and during holidays.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduation plus an additional administrative support program/course of over six months and up to one year or equivalent;
  • Medical terminology course;
  • Good computer knowledge including the ability to work with Microsoft (Word and Excel) programs and Meditech System;
  • Discretion, flexibility and ability to remain calm in the fulfilment of tasks;
  • Sense of responsibility and organization;
  • Good comunication and interpersonal skills;
  • Tact, initiative, judgement and creativity in the fulfilment of tasks;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
