JOB SUMMARY:

Under the responsibility of the Corporate Director of Surgical Services, the successful candidate will supervise all Outpatient Clinics and Medical Device Reprocessing Departments (MDRD) within the Network. This person will be responsible, within the framework of their mandate, for planning and organizing care and services. They will also be responsible for managing human, financial, and physical resources, training staff, managing quality and risks, and supporting training and research. In addition, they will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a standard process and will be required to manage employees who are physically located in other zones. The successful candidate may, as part of their duties, be required to travel within the Network’s territory to support colleagues responsible for surgical services in other zones. Various mandates may be delegated to the incumbent based on the operational needs of clinical services.

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or another relevant field;
  • Master’s degree in management (asset);
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a health care management position;
  • Eight to ten years’ experience in the health care field;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in critical care, and experience in program development and implementation;
  • A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
  • Proven transformational leadership ability;
  • Ability to set priorities and meet objectives
  • Ability to manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously, and understanding of the organization’s needs and priorities;
  • Analytical, writing and synthesis skills;
  • Good knowledge and skilful use of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Availability to travel within the Network’s territory;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network’s management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with Vitalité Health Network’s confidentiality.
