Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO)

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the authority of the Corporate Director of Nursing and accountable to the CIS Executive Steering Committee, the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) provides leadership and champions the advancement and alignment of care delivery and clinical priorities as they relate to the implementation of a provincial clinical information system (CIS). An important part of this role will be to provide clinical information and to rally nurses and allied health professionals across the Network to the need for, and implementation of, a standardized and integrated province-wide CIS, with a focus on improving clinical workflow and business processes. The Network’s Chief Clinical Information Officer will also provide clinical information and rally clinicians around the need for, and implementation of, a standardized and integrated province-wide CIS. The Chief Clinical Information Officer will therefore be a key player in the evolution and transformation of the Network’s information system over the coming years, to the benefit of quality of care, our patients and our clinical teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical health care field;
  • Master's degree in a health field, computer science or business administration (asset);
  • Certified Health Executive or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems designation (asset);
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a management role;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical informatics role or relevant experience in a facility with electronic documentation;
  • Adherence to the management philosophy, code of organizational values and professional ethics principles;
  • Demonstrated strong skills coordinating multiple files;
  • Ability to build productive partnerships and appreciate counterparts;
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks;
  • Interpersonal skills promoting a climate conducive to welcoming and showing concern for the client and to effective communication;
  • Very good knowledge of, and working ability with, computer tools and office automation software (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook);
  • Valid driver’s licence;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
