JOB SUMMARY:

The Care Access Manager is responsible for improving access to information for patients awaiting surgery in Zone 6 and for providing them with support in managing their wait times. They also work in collaboration with the OR booking staff, members of the surgical team and the management team to develop tools and foster rigorous and structured management of surgery wait lists. The incumbent must also ensure the quality of information provided to the Provincial Surgical Access Registry. Other areas of activity related to access to care and the use of services could be added to the mandate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the healthcare sector;
  • Two (2) years of management experience;
  • Knowledge of or experience in the perioperative environment;
  • Experience working with health information technologies;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, their quality, and their interpretation;
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and procedures;
  • Analytical mindset and ability to make recommendations;
  • Knowledge of human resources management and conflict resolution principles;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and procedures;
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and leader;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
