Description
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions across Loyal Express divisions, work accident claims, immigration files, payroll support, employee relations, training, compliance.
This role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislation, as well as consistent handling of confidential information, including access to personnel records and total compensation details. The HR Generalist is also responsible for providing a high-quality customer experience to both internal and external contacts, including employees, managers, senior staff, external candidates, and clients.
Essential Functions
- Manage all CNESST accidents and sick leave claims
- Manage immigration process for temporary foreign workers
- Administrator for Group Insurance; new enrolments, terminations, LTD claims
- Maintain personnel files in accordance with applicable legal requirements
- Provide back-up support to the Payroll Specialist
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts
- Assist in the payroll year-end process
- Stay abreast on provincial and federal labour standards
- Stay abreast on payroll compliance regulations
- Assist in the handling and investigation of workplace complaints
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner
- Ensure that 1% training obligations are met across all divisions
- Coordinate corporate training programs, including driver and office staff training
- Oversee OQLF and ensure compliance
- Support the optimization of HR forms
- Support the maintenance and distribution of HR policies, procedures, and memos
- Support HR Director with Pay Equity
- Support HR Director in all other HR initiatives
Work environment
Requested skills
- Bachelor's degree in HR Management or Administration
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar position
- Experience in payroll processing
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of English, required to communicate with certain employees and customers who do not speak French and to maintain documentation in both languages
- Exercise good judgment and discernment
- Dynamic with a positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Autonomous
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
