We are looking for an Engineering Department Manager who can both lead a team and steer large-scale strategic projects. In this role, you will be at the heart of decision-making, guiding your colleagues in adopting best practices while ensuring the success of projects that will have a concrete and lasting impact. Your vision, leadership, and rigor will make you an essential reference in our organization!


In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead, supervise, and support the development of mechanical and electrical engineering employees
  • Act as a coach and technical leader
  • Establish project requirements and costs during committee meetings with applicants, while managing the budget and timelines of engineering projects to optimize the use of resources
  • Plan and prioritize engineering projects based on plant requirements
  • Ensure coordination between departments (production, maintenance, quality, etc.) for project completion
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of large-scale automation, mechanical, and civil engineering projects
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and regulatory standards in projects
  • Participate in strategic decisions related to investments in equipment and technology
  • Participate in the implementation of innovative solutions and stay abreast of new technological trends to improve the efficiency and reliability of operations

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you will be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or other relevant field, with 7 to 10 years of practical and management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven skills in project management, planning, and coordination.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems in an industrial environment.
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness; the person knows how to take charge of entire projects and follow through on them
  • Motivational leadership, strategic sense, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain calm in complex situations
  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to speak and read English (3/5) in order to communicate with our clients

  • Years of experience in consulting engineering.
