Job Responsibilities/Job Functions:

•This position has the responsibility to develop maintenance programs and strategies, provide station sustaining capital plans and coordinate the delivery of those plans to optimize the in-service life of installed corporate assets.

•The capital maintenance plan includes the determination of budgets required to deliver the plan and the quantification of risk if portions of the maintenance plan are eliminated.

•The scope of this function includes all terminal stations, generation switchyards, switching stations, substations, telecommunications systems, and metering.

•It also includes distribution assets such as re-closers, regulators, capacitors, transfer schemes, etc.

•Develop, implement and maintain a computerized maintenance management system.

•Develop and prioritize station sustaining plans to optimize system investment.

•Assist in development of work procedures to ensure consistent application of maintenance practices.

•Update and modify Standards applicable to maintenance domains.

•Analyze maintenance results, implementing productivity improvements in maintenance practices, processes and resource utilization.

•Define, quantify and advise on the risks associated with altering maintenance plan.

•Develop maintenance capital business cases ready for management approval.

•Identify and act on opportunities for optimization with other projects.

•Monitor industry trends for new maintenance opportunities that can further optimize maintenance investment.

•Assist other stakeholder groups as experience permits.


Job Qualifications:

•High School graduation, one to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

•Up-to-date knowledge of Building Systems and ability to operate various building systems.

•Ability to analyze situations related to the computer systems, assemble reports, sometimes compose correspondence, design forms and sheets, diagnose problems which arise on the computers, do research on past problems, fix things such as jammed printers, make judgments, operate office equipment such as keyboards, photocopiers, etc., read manuals, and use mathematics to do calculations.

•Communication skills include the use of courtesy, tact and good interpersonal skills when talking to staff, as well as discretion, persuasion and interpretation when dealing with contractors, etc. in order to complete job tasks.

•Motor skills required to use a calculator, computer, fax, telephone, photocopier, printer, and lighting board, answer the telephone, radio, elevator alarm, etc., turn off lights, acknowledge an alarm, etc.

•Versatile skills to operate several computer systems related to the building operations and use a variety of communication methods such as two-way radio, telephone and elevator communication system.
