Location: Hamilton, ON
Work Model: 2 Days Onsite Mandatory (Tues/Weds)
Hours: 35/Week
Contract: 6 weeks + possibility of extension
Role: Strategy & Governance Consultant (CISO Office Support - 6-Week Contract)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop high-level strategy, roadmap, and governance documents to establish and formalize the new CISO organization.
- Consolidate existing ideas, initiatives, and data into clear deliverables (PowerPoint, Visio, governance frameworks).
- Create executive-level presentations (e.g., 10-slide strategy decks) that summarize security initiatives, projects, and timelines.
- Write detailed governance documents outlining roles, responsibilities, decision-making authority, steering committee structures, and risk management processes.
- Work directly with leadership (CISO, IT executives) to present a clear and professional security strategy.
Must-Haves:
- 7-10 years’ experience in cybersecurity strategy, governance, or risk management.
- Proven experience creating roadmaps, governance documents, and security strategy decks for executive stakeholders.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience using tools like PowerPoint and Visio for strategy/governance documentation.
Plusses:
- Prior experience standing up or restructuring a CISO organization.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or similar.
- Public sector experience (especially IT or corporate strategy for municipalities).
