Position: Sr. Manager, Transformation Office to orchestrate collaboration across Front, Middle, and Back Office teams

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Location: Hybrid Toronto - 4 days in office


Scope of Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance Platform, Capital Markets the Senior Manager, Transformation Office provides business analysis and consulting support to capital markets businesses and related support teams. They are accountable for defining target state operating models, including target state processes, technology, and data requirements in partnership with system integrators and internal delivery teams. These roles are a critical component of the Transformation Office, ensuring that the business needs of impacted teams are delivered through the program.

The incumbent will be the principal business consultant responsible for orchestrating collaboration across Front, Middle, and Back Office teams to deliver transformation objectives.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-9 years experience managing large programs and/or transformation initiatives in the Financial Services industry.
  • Deep understanding of the investment lifecycle across investment products, including key processes.
  • Experience working with Buy Side investments
  • Front, Middle, Back office
  • Experience implementing and delivering change to leading investment applications, including but not limited to Eagle, Calypso, Charles River, Bloomberg, BlackRock, and/or SimCorp.


Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform and/or Snowflake are nice to have.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define transformation objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Transformation Office and operational teams in Front, Middle, and Back Offices.
  • Facilitate regular workshops and meetings to capture requirements and user stories, communicate progress, and address challenges.
  • Support the development of business cases through the identification and quantification of business benefits. Monitor and report on benefit realization throughout the delivery of the program.
  • Contribute to detailed plans for the successful execution of the transformation program, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Prioritize business requirements and user stories in alignment with key system integration milestones and operating model changes.
  • Lead the analysis of existing processes, technology, and data flows across the organization.
  • Work with technical teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Redesign business processes to align with the capabilities of new systems and leading practices.
  • Define and document changes to the operating model, including roles, responsibilities, and workflows.
  • Support testing of new systems and processes to ensure business requirements are met. Participate in the defect management and solution design where requirements are impacted.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to design and execute strategies to manage organizational impacts.
  • Support training initiatives to ensure teams across Front, Middle, and Back Offices are prepared for new systems and processes.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support teams to facilitate smooth adoption.
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to technology, process and organizational changes.
  • Proactively develop mitigation strategies and work with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of new systems and processes post-implementation, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Gather feedback and work with teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation of lessons learned for future initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Business Analysts and other team members involved in the program to develop and sustain disciplined program delivery behaviours.
  • Drive a focus on quality and efficiency throughout the transformation lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster buy-in and support the transformation program by fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and service excellence.
