AppSheet Developer to provide expert guidance and collaborative support to our internal development team. The goal of this partnership is to build an End-of-Year (EOY) Compensation Cycle management tool while simultaneously upskilling our internal team. The external developer will act as a subject matter expert, assisting our team in building the application's more complex functionalities, addressing urgent development needs, and ensuring the final product is robust, scalable, and maintainable by our team long-term.

The developer will be responsible for augmenting our internal team's capabilities by providing expert-level guidance and hands-on support. The primary focus will be on collaborating in the following areas:

Core Calculation Engine:

  • Guide the internal team in architecting and implementing the primary calculation logic that allocates salary increases based on an employee's STIP % (At Target, Below Target, Above Target scenarios).
  • Pair-program with the team to ensure the interdependent logic between "Increase %" and "Increase Amount" fields is functioning correctly and efficiently.

Workflow and Access Control:

  • Advise on best practices for building and configuring multi-level approval workflows and leader-to-leader rollups.
  • Assist the team in implementing robust, role-based access controls (Leaders, HRBPs, Admins).
  • Co-develop the functionality for mandatory justification notes when recommendations exceed guidelines.

Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Provide architectural guidance for creating a real-time budget display.
  • Support the team in implementing a "budget lock-out" feature.
  • Consult on the development of efficient data export functionalities for final reporting.

Mentorship & Ad-hoc Support:

  • Provide on-demand support to help the internal team troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and implement urgent feature requests.
  • Offer expert consultation and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions on best practices for AppSheet architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.

Must Haves:

  • 2+ Years AppSheet Development experience
  • Hands-on experience configuring multi-level approval workflows in AppSheet.
  • Ability to model compensation-type rules or similarly complex calculation frameworks.
  • Building robust role-based access controls (e.g., leader, HRBP, admin).
  • Experience designing real-time budget/summary dashboards.
  • Knowledge of budget “lock-out” mechanisms and change-tracking.
  • Ability to build efficient data export/reporting pipelines from AppSheet to Sheets/Excel/CSV.
  • Deep familiarity with Google Sheets (formulas, pivoting, data structuring for AppSheet).
  • Prior experience coaching or enabling an internal team to learn AppSheet or similar low-code platforms.
