Our utilities client is seeking a Sr Tenable Platform Consultant to lead the design and implementation of Tenable platforms - 21878


Initially a 12-months contract. Hybrid work model in Downtown Vancouver preferred. Remote candidates meeting and exceeding all requirements who can work remotely in PST time zone within Canada can be considered. 37.5 hours/week.


Must haves:

- Extensive experience with Tenable Platform

- API development and integration.

- Python scripting .


Nice to have:

- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Tenable Certified Engineer, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, or similar.

- Experience with other scripting languages, knowledge of network security, and familiarity with ITIL processes.


Position Overview: The Tenable Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, and implementing Tenable platforms. This role requires a strong background in API development, Python scripting, and extensive knowledge of ServiceNow, including CMDB and ServiceNow integration. Additionally, the candidate must have a solid understanding of NERC standards, compliance scans such as CIS benchmarks, and the ability to edit Tenable audit files to create compliance scans. Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting specifically for compliance scans is a must. The candidate should also have experience with SIEM tools, particularly Splunk, and the ability to work with other data lakes, such as Microsoft Defender.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of Tenable platforms, ensuring they meet the organization's security requirements and standards.

• API Development: Develop and maintain APIs to facilitate seamless integration between Tenable platforms, other systems and additional functions.

• ServiceNow Integration: Integrate Tenable platforms with ServiceNow, leveraging CMDB and other ServiceNow modules to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.

• Compliance Scans: Conduct compliance scans using CIS benchmarks and other standards, and edit Tenable audit files to create customized compliance scans.

• Scripting Skills: Utilize Python, PowerShell and Bash scripting specifically for compliance scans to automate processes and enhance platform capabilities.

• SIEM Tools: Implement and manage SIEM tools, particularly Splunk, to monitor and analyze security events.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cybersecurity, IT, and development teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to Tenable platforms, APIs, and integrations, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform designs, configurations, and integrations.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance platform security and functionality.
