Our client is looking for a Sr Power BI Developer to support multiple BI projects for a construction company.


Must Have's:

  • 5+ years of experience as a power BI developer
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development (Power BI, SSRS, Azure)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data science or advanced analytics (Python, R, ML frameworks)
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert in Power BI, DAX, and data visualization best practices
  • Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with data science concepts: data wrangling, feature engineering, basic machine learning (regression, classification).
  • Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and model development.
  • Experience with MS Fabric platform - including building or migrating data warehouse processes to Fabric


Scope of Work:

  • Migrate and consolidate legacy SSRS reports to the BI6 platform
  • Integrate and validate data models within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Support strategic reporting initiatives (e.g., Cost Per Hour, Sales Rep Scorecard, SLT Reports)
  • Implement and maintain metadata management and DataOps frameworks
  • Contribute to AI pilots and proof-of-concept projects, applying data science techniques
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security across BI and AI solutions.
  • Provide documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to business users

Responsibilities:

  • Migrate, consolidate, and rebuild SSRS reports within BI6 and Power BI, ensuring alignment with business requirements
  • Design, validate, and optimize semantic models and data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop and deploy strategic dashboards and reports to support operational, sales, and executive decision-making
  • Assist with AI pilots and PoCs, including data preparation, feature engineering, and basic model development
  • Conduct QA, regression testing, and data validation to ensure report accuracy and integrity
  • Configure role-based access controls and ensure compliance with data governance policies
  • Create training materials and deliver sessions to facilitate user adoption of new BI and AI tools
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI and AI solutions, processes, and frameworks
  • Work with business analysts, SMEs, and IT teams to gather requirements, validate outputs, and resolve issues
