A career as an AVP, Business Development, in the team of Automotive Finance Group at National Bank is to act as a strategic partner in growing and nurturing a high-value portfolio of commercial automotive clients. Your job
- Develop and implement business development strategies to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio of commercial automotive clients.
- Build and strengthen client relationships by providing tailored, full-service banking and financing solutions.
- Leverage your network within the automotive industry to identify opportunities and generate quality referrals.
- Negotiate effectively to optimize the profitability of new and existing relationships, while ensuring alignment with risk and return guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with credit and internal partners to deliver sound financing structures and ensure prudent risk management.
- Represent the Bank at industry and community events to enhance visibility and foster connections.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in banking or commercial lending, with significant exposure to the automotive sector.
- Proven track record in developing and executing sales strategies that generate sustained portfolio growth.
- Demonstrated ability to structure and advise on complex automotive credit transactions.
- In-depth understanding of credit and risk management principles.
- Willingness to travel within Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta as required
- Preferred candidate based in Edmonton or Calgary.
