Project: International Banking - Data Migration and Transformation to Cloud
Mission: To develop and maintain a cloud platform that integrates data from various sources, standardizes processes, and facilitates data publication for consumers and producers, ensuring quality, security, and accessibility.
Scope: The primary objective of this project is to design and implement a unified cloud data platform for IB across different countries.
Impact: Efficient ingestion of data from multiple on-premises sources to the cloud.
Data transformation and standardization into organized layers (landing and standardization zones).
Rapid data delivery for bank teams requiring reports, indicators, or advanced analysis.
Incorporation of reusable data products for transversal consumption across the organization.
The project prioritizes agility in delivery, enabling tactical solutions (quick, connected to local sources) when necessary, while promoting progressive advancement toward fully cloud-based strategic solutions.
Responsibilities:
The Agile Delivery Manager will drive the successful delivery of data products for international banking by combining the roles of a Scrum Master, data delivery specialist, and stakeholder facilitator. This role ensures that Data Engineering teams operate efficiently within an Agile framework, delivering high-quality, scalable data solutions that meet the complex needs of global banking stakeholders. The Agile Delivery Manager will foster collaboration, remove impediments, and align team efforts with strategic business objectives to enable data-driven decision-making.
This role is critical to ensuring the seamless delivery of innovative data products that empower international banking operations while maintaining agility, compliance, and stakeholder alignment.
• Agile Process Leadership: Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure effective team collaboration, adherence to Agile principles, and continuous improvement in delivery processes.
• Data Product Delivery: Oversee end-to-end delivery of data products, ensuring alignment with banking requirements, data quality standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, Basel III). Coordinate with Data Engineers to prioritize and deliver data pipelines, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions.
• Stakeholder Facilitation: Serve as the primary liaison between Data Engineering teams and international banking stakeholders, including business units, compliance teams, and senior leadership. Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and manage expectations through clear communication and status reporting.
• Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve blockers to team progress, whether technical, process-related, or stakeholder-driven, to maintain delivery momentum.
• Team Empowerment: Coach and mentor Data Engineering teams to adopt Agile best practices, foster a culture of collaboration, and enhance technical and soft skills to improve delivery outcomes.
• Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sprint velocity, data product quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. Use insights to drive process optimization and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Risk and Compliance Management: Ensure data products adhere to international banking regulations and internal governance standards, collaborating with compliance and risk teams to mitigate potential issues.
Must Have Skills:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in Agile project management or Scrum Master roles, with at least 3 years focused on data-related projects (e.g., data engineering, data analytics, or data warehousing).
•Proven track record of delivering data products or solutions in the banking or financial services industry, with knowledge of international banking regulations (e.g., GDPR, MiFID II, or equivalent).
•Strong experience facilitating cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization.
•Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) and data engineering workflows (e.g., ETL processes, data pipelines, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•Spanish language
Nice-To-Have Skills:
•Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance requirements in banking.
•Ability to coach teams and stakeholders on Agile practices and data-driven delivery.
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
•A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly within the banking or financial services sector, and experience leading data-focused projects. They must be capable of effectively communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, understanding and translating business requirements, and clearly conveying those needs to their technical team.
This person should also possess the leadership skills necessary to guide and empower a team, ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Strong project management capabilities are essential, including risk management, financial planning, and conflict resolution.
In summary, we are looking for someone who can:
• Navigate Agile environments with confidence.
• Bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
• Deliver high-quality results under tight timelines and budget constraints.
• Manage risks proactively and resolve issues efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and lead with accountability.
