Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and implementation of an AIX infrastructure upgrade to IBM Power10 systems. This role involves end-to-end architectural oversight, system integration planning, risk management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth, secure, and efficient migration from legacy Power systems (e.g., Power8/Power9) to Power10.
Key Responsibilities:
• • Architect and lead the upgrade strategy and roadmap for AIX systems transitioning to IBM Power10 hardware.
• • Design scalable, high-performance, and resilient infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• • Assess existing AIX workloads, dependencies, and integration points to define optimal migration paths.
• • Develop technical architecture documents, including HLDs and LLDs, covering compute, storage, network, and backup considerations.
• • Evaluate and incorporate virtualization technologies (e.g., PowerVM, VIOS), LPAR design, and micro-partitioning strategies.
• • Define and enforce security hardening, patching, and compliance requirements throughout the upgrade lifecycle.
• • Work closely with UNIX/Linux administrators, DBAs, application owners, and vendors to coordinate the transition.
• • Establish rollback, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures related to the upgrade.
