Senior Security Architect to support Incident Response Efforts for our client in the Public Sector

Our client in the public sector is seeking a Senior Security Architect to support the design and implementation of security architectures across a variety of enterprise initiatives.


Location: Hamilton, ON


Duration: 3 month contract with possibility of extension.


Hybrid Work Model: 2 days/week in office (Tues/Weds)


35 hours/week


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead technical architect for security across infrastructure, network, and application-level projects.
  • Engage with internal project teams to understand needs and design fit-for-purpose security architectures.
  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations across areas such as endpoint protection, firewalls, router and DMZ configuration, and data center security.
  • Design and advise on network security architecture, including Microsoft ecosystem tools and integrations (e.g., CrowdStrike, Azure, Active Directory).
  • Provide expertise on application security, including secure API design and implementation.
  • Deliver comprehensive security architecture reports for each assigned project.
  • Assess current gaps such as lack of MFA and insecure API designs, and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and network teams to ensure architecture aligns with timelines and business goals.

Must Haves:

  • Proven experience as a Security Architect with deep technical knowledge of enterprise security architecture.
  • Strong background in network security, including firewalls, routers, DMZs, and endpoint protection tools.
  • Experience designing security for large-scale Microsoft-based environments and integrations with third-party tools (e.g., CrowdStrike).
  • Ability to deliver formal security design documentation and articulate risks and recommendations clearly.
  • Knowledge across multiple domains: infrastructure, data center security, network segmentation, application security, and identity/access management.
  • Hands-on experience with traditional architecture methods as well as modern, API-driven environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
