Our public sector client is seeking a Senior SAP Development Lead (10+ years) to provide technical leadership across SAP S/4HANA Cloud transformation initiatives

Join a major municipal ERP modernization project focused on transitioning core finance and real estate systems to SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Private Edition). This role leads end-to-end technical oversight across development streams, ensuring high-quality delivery, adherence to clean core principles, and compliance with SAP standards. The work spans SAP integration, ABAP development, Fiori/UI5 extensions, and governance alignment alongside system integrators within a large-scale transformation environment.

Must Haves

• 15+ years in SAP ABAP development including ABAP OO, debugging, and HANA performance optimization
• 3+ years as Development Lead conducting code reviews, enforcing clean core principles, and managing technical risk
• 2+ years in SAP S/4HANA (on-prem or Private Cloud) with at least one end-to-end implementation or conversion project
• 5+ years in SAP Integration Suite delivering A2A, B2B, and hybrid integrations with production support
• Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent plus one valid SAP certification

Nice to Have

• Hands-on RAP experience with full end-to-end application or service delivery
• Experience in ABAP CDS views development, including REST services and embedded analytics enablement
• SAP extensibility experience focusing on in-app extensions with minimal core modifications
• 4 years in SAP Fiori/UI5 application design, configuration, and debugging
• Professional development courses completed in the last 3 years related to SAP or similar technologies

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for SAP development initiatives executed by system integrators and internal teams
• Act as the lead technical advisor across SAP S/4HANA, SAP SaaS, and SAP BTP-based platforms
• Define, review, and approve SAP solution designs and development approaches
• Perform code reviews, validate technical designs, and ensure adherence to development standards
• Enforce governance and clean core principles across all development deliverables
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for the system integrator to ensure delivery quality and timelines
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to align technical solutions with program objectives and architecture standards
