Senior SAP Data Migration Lead to support a SAP ECC to S/4 HANA system upgrade and conversion

Our large, enterprise public sector client is seeking a Senior SAP Data Migration Lead to support a SAP ECC to S/4 HANA system upgrade and conversion. This is an 18-month initial contract with a possibility of extension.

Scope Overview: Responsible for overseeing the complete master data migration process within SAP S/4 for a Utilities migration project, ensuring the accurate and efficient migration of data from ECC and other legacy systems to SAP S/4 Hana. This role will support, train, and mentor an internal migration lead using a 2-in-the-box model to ensure success post implementation. You will also work closely with an internal project manager who will project manage the data migration stream. This role will also work with the internal lead to lead a team of contractors to support the data migration work, specifically data profiling, cleansing and migration.

Must-Haves:

• 8 years of directly applicable experience.
• Experience with data migrations from SAP ECC to S/4 for Utilities
• Experience with data migrations in the utility sector
• Experience with using various data migration tools and solutions that apply to SAP data migration implementations (Syniti, BODS, LMSW, MDG, etc.)
• Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams for significant projects.
• Experience with data integrity, data accuracy, and data completeness during migration activities, particularly in building data pipelines
• Key to success in this role is having done multiple SAP ECC to S/4 for Utilities and a breadth of experience in data management, master data management, data governance, and SAP as well as seasoned leadership skills and ability to deliver major projects on time and on budget
• Strong understanding of Data Migration Methodology (ETL) including profiling, cleansing, and validation activities

Responsibilities Overview:

• Co-Lead and manage the end-to-end master data migration stream from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA for Utilities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the master data migration team (employees and contractors), fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Work closely with the co-leader to make joint decisions, strategize, and drive project success.
• Co-Lead a team of contractors responsible for supporting the master data migration stream.
• Collaborate with business process owners (BPO’s) and internal teams to understand data migration requirements and scope.
• Develop comprehensive data migration strategies, migration plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead and design ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Develop and maintain the mock load & cutover plan including simulations ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and system readiness before the final cutover.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards throughout the migration process
• Lead data profiling, validation, and testing to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
• Establish and track KPIs for data migration, providing status updates and issue tracking to senior leadership and the PMO.
