Our client is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to lead advanced 5G NR design and coverage modeling for network expansion and upgrade initiatives

Join our client to drive large-scale 5G network expansion and optimization. This role focuses on high-impact design and validation of next-generation wireless architecture, including ORAN integration and advanced propagation modeling. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams to ensure optimized performance and coverage reliability.

Contract, Preferred Location: Calgary or Edmonton, open to remote across Canada working MST

Must Haves

• Advanced 5G NR design and coverage modeling with SC6 experience
• Expertise in RF engineering and propagation tools
• Proficiency in site acquisition and antenna design including height, azimuth, and tilt optimization
• Practical knowledge of ORAN architecture and deployment
• Proven project leadership supporting cross-functional teams through technical validation and network simulations
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Python or Data Science frameworks for automating legacy processes and link budget calculations
• AI/ML automation experience to drive workflow automation and reduce manual processes
• Multi-vendor network compatibility experience with ORAN deployments across different vendors

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced 5G NR design and coverage modeling activities
• Perform RF engineering validation and propagation analysis
• Optimize antenna parameters including height, azimuth, and tilt
• Coordinate site acquisition and readiness for network upgrades
• Oversee ORAN architecture implementation within multi-vendor environments
• Provide technical leadership across project teams to ensure design integrity
• Execute network simulations supporting expansion and upgrade deliverables
