Senior Network Engineer with performance capacity management experience (Algosec/Extrahop) support one of our major banking clients- 39790

Location Address: Scarborough- hybrid - onsite 1-2 days/week (currently, contractors are working fully remote, but this may change in near future)

Contract Duration: 6 months (Possibility of extension and conversion to FTE)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week (Possible OT)

Story Behind the Need

• Business group: GTEP - Strategy & Tools
• Project: GTEP has a funded project for the replacement of all hardware servers for the AlgoSec application.
• The role of the Network Engineer, Tools operates within the GTEP Engineering and Architecture team. This valuable member of the team will be responsible for configuring and maintaining critical network engineering tools for Scotiabank’s global network.

Typical Day in Role:

• system support and maintenance software and version currency, upgrades, system restoration as required
• related audit activities
• report and logging functionality and future growth and enhancements for the assigned network tools
• responsible for the planning, costing, configuring and implementation of network tool solutions across the global as well as potentially non-network based tools.
• Responsive to operational issues and provide quick resolution to complex problems.
• The individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation and procedures for the projects developed.
• responsible for creating network assessments, design and costing based on business requirements.
• Participation and execution of projects to deploy network solutions

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1. 10+ years of networking experience in network engineering tools and systems (Basic skills with data network technologies and solutions)

2. Proficient skills and experience with network monitoring, performance capacity management and troubleshooting tools such as AlgoSec, ExtraHop network applications along with a basic understanding of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, next generation

3. 5+ years of Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, etc

4. Knowledge and experience with network performance and monitoring tools, Microsoft office, Microsoft Project, Visio, etc

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1. Bilingual in Spanish

2. Highly skilled in design, deployment and operations in large complex networked environment is an asset

3. Project planning skills to organize, develop and deliver plans to implement network projects.

4. Proficiency with NetBrain, SevOne, Aruba

5. Experience in developing documented formal network analysis, designs and business proposals that includes costing

6. CISCO certifications

Education: Engineering or Computer science or college diploma in networking technology or engineering

Best VS. Average Candidate: The ideal Network Engineer would be bilingual in Spanish and would be highly skilled in design, deployment and operations in large complex networked environment
