The Senior Security Architect is responsible for designing and providing oversight of security architecture across enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role partners closely with technology and business teams to ensure security is embedded into systems and solutions in alignment with organizational risk tolerance, policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Design and review security architecture for enterprise, cloud, and application initiatives
- Provide security guidance and architectural direction to infrastructure, cloud, and development teams
- Ensure secure-by-design principles are applied throughout the solution lifecycle
- Conduct security architecture and threat risk assessments
- Define and maintain security standards, patterns, and reference architectures
- Support cloud security, identity, network, and data protection initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security with business objectives
- Mentor junior security architects and engineers as needed
An Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including several years in a security architecture or senior security engineering role
- Strong understanding of security architecture principles, cloud security, IAM, network security, and data protection
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CISM, SABSA)- highly preferred
- Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP) will be a great asset
- Experience working in regulated or large enterprise environments would be nice to have
