Senior Integration Specialist to oversee, plan, recommend, design, and execute an initiative to change APIM vendor solutions to a new modern platform

6-8 months contract

Work Location: Primarily remote using collaboration tools such as MS Teams. Site visits will be required two times a month. Equipment: The Integration Specialist must provide their own computer equipment and office supplies; these will not be provided by the client

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience in managing and implementing APIM environments, including technical support and administration.

• Relevant WSO2 and Azure experience are considered strong assets

• Experience with code promotion and branching strategies in Git and Azure DevOps pipelines.

• Proven expertise designing, configuring, testing, and maintaining complex enterprise applications on Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience successfully completing at least two large, complex integration/APIM migrations.

• Strong technical knowledge of Azure data services, Docker, Kubernetes, Git and related API technologies and languages.

Reporting to the Manager of Data Platform Services, key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical leadership and subject-matter expertise for the APIM environment.

• Maintaining and administering the WSO2 APIM platform in Azure.

• Collaborating with IT architects, developers, and external vendors to build, deploy and maintain APIs both in the APIM platform and deployed in containers.

• Perform gap analysis for APIM migration to a new product / environment.

• Perform vendor analysis to recommend new APIM platform. Create and execute migration plan to move API’s from the existing APIM environment into the new APIM solution.

The role requires:

• Providing technical knowledge with APIs, APIM, microservices, K8s, docker, python, Ballerina, GIT and Azure functions

• Practical operational experience with maintaining WSO2 APIM and APIs.

• Experience using Azure DevOps (boards, sprints, repo, test plans, etc.).

• Strong stakeholder engagement communication.

• Organizational change management skills.
