Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension)

Work Location: Downtown Toronto - Hybrid - 2 -3 days in office - Mondays and Tuesdays and a floating day

Line of Business: Finance controllership - Responsible for integrity of financial reporting.

Job Description:

What project will this contractor be working on? - Day to day work with a focus on process improvement.

Reporting to the AVP, Canadian Banking Controller, the Senior Manager/Senior Financial Analyst, Cdn Banking Controllership supports the Canadian Commercial and Corporate Banking strategic business units and is responsible for the integrity of the financial and management information used for reporting and business analysis. The Senior Manager/Senior Financial Analyst, as a member of the Finance Controllership team, is accountable for the integrity of the loan ledgers and amounts reported in the financial reporting systems. The Senior Manager/SFA oversees accounting activities throughout the month such as loan accounting advisory, investigation of accounting and/or process issues, reconciliation, and other accounting related activities as required. In addition, there are month-end close responsibilities and ad hoc requests as issues arise during the close.

The Senior Manager/Senior Financial Analyst have the following primary responsibilities

1. Execute on loan contracts accounting review to eliminate the backlog

2. Financial analysis, investigation, and explanation of results

Must Have Requirement:

· 5+ years of relevant work experience with financial service institutions

· Proficient in Excel (formulas, VBA, Macros) and familiarity with AI tools

· Ability to investigate accounting issues and processes

· Attention to details and comfortable with large volume of date

Nice to Have:

· Understanding or experience with lending products, terms and conditions, interests, and fees

· Understanding or experience of General ledger applications (SAP, Oracle)

· Current accreditation CPA or equivalent with strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards preferred

· ACBS knowledge

Education and Certifications: Accounting designation or equivalent would be desired.

1st - IV with HM - MS Teams - 30min 1hr

2nd - IV with VP - MS Teams/in person pending availability 30 min to 1 hr
