Job Description

Pay Range: $55,000 - $85,000

Position Overview:

The Global Search Analyst is responsible for analyzing On-Site Search data to improve the customer and stakeholder findability experience. Reporting to the Search Product team, this role focuses on analyzing large data sets and producing actionable insights that support business objectives, decision-making, opportunity identification, and prioritization. The role partners closely with Product, Merchandising, Analytics, and other stakeholders to solve findability challenges, implement solutions, and assess impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Search & Findability Analysis

  • Analyze on-site search performance and customer interactions to understand findability effectiveness
  • Deep dive into large datasets including search data, product data, facet data, Voice of Customer, and LTUA data
  • Monitor and identify shifts in customer behavior, data patterns, and emerging risks or opportunities
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful, actionable business insights using SQL and related tools

Decision Support & Optimization

  • Serve as a global on-site search optimization subject matter expert for Product, Merchandising, and partner teams
  • Support Product teams with analysis to inform roadmaps, enhancements, and new features
  • Assess the criticality, impact, and risks of findability challenges and optimization opportunities
  • Evaluate the impact of search tuning rules such as synonyms, redirects, and similar configurations

Collaboration & Implementation

  • Partner with Search, Product, Merchandising, Analytics, and Data Science teams to develop solutions and reporting tools
  • Support non-search stakeholders in resolving business challenges related to findability
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions outside the Product workflow (e.g., data or product optimization)
  • Assist with testing and validation of new search solutions

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Create, maintain, and share reports on search performance, highlighting key insights and unexpected trends
  • Document learnings, analysis approaches, and new processes as they are developed
  • Manage operational tasks with a focus on automation and efficiency
  • Contribute positively to the team environment and collaborate effectively with peers

Minimum Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field

Other Requirements / Assets:

  • Experience analyzing on-site search and customer behavior patterns
  • Experience with SQL joins, subqueries, and experimental data processing approaches
  • Familiarity with Regular Expressions
  • Experience in Search, Ecommerce, Retail, or Home Improvement environments
  • General knowledge of statistics or mathematics
  • Strong curiosity, eagerness to learn, team-oriented mindset, and desire to help others
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Meets minimum time-in-position requirements (1 year) and performance expectations (M+)
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Home Depot policies and procedures
