Description
Office: Toronto, ON - 3 days a week
Hours: 37.5/Week
Contract: 6 months + Extension
- Partner with senior engineers to design and build accounting- and finance-related platform functionality.
- Act as a finance/accounting subject matter expert (SME) for the product and engineering teams.
- Guide the team on how to properly analyze transactions (e.g., double-entry accounting).
- Define and validate how client balances, deposits, and custody of assets should be reflected in the system (asset vs. liability accounts).
- Collaborate with CFO/Finance leadership to clarify requirements when needed.
- Provide architectural guidance on accounting solutions, bridging between finance and engineering.
- Document accounting/transaction logic for system builds.
- 8-10 years experience as a BSA (Business Systems Analyst) or Product Owner, or in a finance systems/treasury systems build.
- Strong finance & accounting expertise, with a solid grasp of double-entry accounting.
- Experience with general ledger structures and financial transaction flows.
- Ability to translate finance/accounting concepts into technical requirements for engineers.
- Hands-on experience in building accounting/account-related systems.
