Power Platform Engineer to build structured automation solutions using Power Platform and Microsoft 365 with client in the public sector

Location: Hamilton, ON

Duration: 3-4 month contract with possibility of extension.

Hybrid Work Model:

Alternate weekly between:

• 2 days in office (Tue & Wed)
• 3 days in office (Tue, Wed & Thu)

35 hours/week

This role focuses on developing business automation using Microsoft Power Platform, including integration with existing SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments. It operates within a technical framework that includes scripting and query development across HTML, JavaScript, Python, and SQL. The position provides direct impact on the implementation of efficient automation workflows and data solutions supporting the municipality’s operational goals.

Must Haves

• Strong experience with Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power BI
• Hands-on work with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 applications
• Coding proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
• Database querying experience using SQL
• Working knowledge of LLM prompt engineering

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Gen AI tools
• Understanding of Machine Learning concepts

Responsibilities

• Develop automation processes using Power Platform tools
• Implement data visualization and reporting within Power BI
• Integrate automation solutions across Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
• Write and maintain code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
• Query and manage data using SQL
• Apply prompt engineering for LLM-based automation use cases
