Manager, Software Development to lead product development for our payments industry client


Duration: 6 Months (Extensions likely)

Location: Hybrid (Toronto)


Overview:

  • Reporting to the Director, Technology Platform Design and Management, you will establish and sell the senior leaders within the technology organization on your technical vision
  • Handle and resolves escalated issues that are technically complex
  • Lead teams of software development professionals responsible for multiple aspects of product development.
  • Plan tasks (e.g. front end platforms, design and implementation of assigned product domains, integration with third-party POS products), hold code and design reviews while ensuring that all components are.
  • Define high-level architecture, collaborate with senior developers across the team on design, and review the detailed designs.
  • Guide all aspects of development including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.
  • Oversee detailed designs, implementation, and test plan reviews to ensure deliverables.
  • Assessing systems concerning functional and technical requirements for our products by working with internal partners.
  • Work with partners to provide status, iterative releases, and make design decision throughout development.
  • Accountable to ensure resulting software deliverables follow all application product architectures and best practices.
  • Plan for the budget and tools to achieve a roadmap.


Must haves:


  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in system-level software development / architecture role
  • Proficient in working in software development, large-scale systems design, business intelligence environments, and data architecture environments.
  • 5 years of technical leadership and people management experience. Demonstrate passion and ability to inspire others.
  • Experience with software tooling, large-scale configuration management and deployment systems.
