IT Project Cutover Lead

Job Summary:

The IT Project Cutover Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the cutover activities required to transition from legacy systems to new IT systems or platforms. This role ensures minimal disruption to business operations during go-live and post-go-live phases. The Cutover Lead works closely with project managers, technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure a smooth and successful transition.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a detailed cutover plan, including timelines, dependencies, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.

Coordinate cutover rehearsals, mock runs, and dry runs to validate readiness.

Lead cutover execution during go-live, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and issues are escalated and resolved promptly.

Collaborate with technical teams (infrastructure, application, data migration) to align cutover activities with deployment plans.

Work with business stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, including training, communication, and support plans.

Facilitate cutover readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, and post-cutover reviews.

Maintain detailed documentation of cutover activities, decisions, and lessons learned.

Identify and manage risks and issues related to cutover, ensuring contingency plans are in place.

Ensure compliance with change management and IT governance processes.
