Intermediate Visio Documentation Consultant to translate existing business workflows into Visio diagrams (process flows, swimlane diagrams, decision trees)

Our valued professional services client is seeking an Intermediate Visio Documentation Consultant to translate existing business workflows into Visio diagrams (process flows, swimlane diagrams, decision trees)!


Initial 3-month contract opportunity, with possibility of extension. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Hybrid on-site (2-3 days per week) in Ottawa, ON.


Responsibilities:

  • Support facilitating working sessions with business stakeholders to understand end-to-end workflows.
  • Update existing Visio documentation that exists to the Current-state (as-is) process
  • Capture and document:
  • Current-state (as-is) processes
  • Future-state (to-be) processes where applicable
  • Translate business workflows into professional Visio diagrams, including:
  • Process flows
  • Swimlane diagrams
  • Decision trees
  • System interaction flows
  • Apply consistent standards for:
  • Shapes
  • Naming conventions
  • Swim lanes
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Align diagrams to an agreed-upon organizational workflow standard.
  • Develop documents leveraging layers to allow for multiple levels of Complexity.
  • Ensure diagrams are easy to interpret by both technical and non-technical audiences.


Must Have Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience documenting and visualizing business processes across multiple functional areas (e.g., Sales, Operations, Finance, Professional Services, IT).
  • Proven experience translating complex, cross-functional workflows into clear, consumable visual documentation utilizing Microsoft Visio (Swim lane diagrams, process flows, etc)
  • Demonstrated success working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, managers, and frontline staff.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prior experience working in consulting or advisory engagements with structured deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder governance.


Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment (quote to cash, packaged goods)
