Intermediate Business Intelligence Analyst to develop reports and dashboards with Power BI for Health & Safety initiatives for our Utilities client

Our Utilities client is seeking a Intermediate Business Intelligence Analyst to develop reports and dashboards for Health & Safety initiatives

Candidates can be in Calgary or Edmonton. Hybrid work model of 3 days in-office per week.

Must haves:

• 5+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analytics role with a focus on Health & Safety programs
• Experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modelling, DAX, and Power Query
• Ability to create logical and optimized data models for analytics and reporting.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in the energy/utilities sector
• Familiarity with Health & Safety metrics, such as TRIF (Total Recordable Incident Frequency) and LTIF (Lost Time Injury Frequency), as well as near misses and hazard reports
• A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Business Intelligence, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities in health and safety performance.
• Develop regular reports and dashboards to track safety performance, trends, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Perform ad hoc analyses to support emerging business needs, critical investigations, or evolving initiatives.
• Continuously enhance existing reporting mechanisms, shifting from manual to automated and streamlined processes.
• Identify and address data quality issues, driving continuous improvements to reporting systems and data pipelines.
• Utilize project management techniques to define, prioritize, and engage in data-related projects that improve safety outcomes and operational efficiency
