ROLE SUMMARY:

The Test Analyst is responsible for creating test plans for all given projects and overseeing the end-to-end testing process of payment systems and applications. This role involves developing comprehensive test strategies, leading a team of testers, and ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement detailed test strategies and plans, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
• Design, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test cases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
• Seeks to continuously improve test processes (Root cause analysis, corrections, preventions)
• Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating closely with development teams for timely resolution.
• Coordinate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables.
• Responsible for management and coordination of all testing activities on assigned projects including definition of testing approach, test effort estimation, profess and status reporting.
• Ensure adherence to testing best practices, standards, and processes.
• Monitor and report on testing progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Implement critical knowledge transfer and communications processes with all teams.
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Must haves:

• Proven experience as a Test Analyst or in a similar role within the Canadian financial or payments industry (5 to 10 Yrs Exp)
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payment systems (e.g., WIRES, Interac, CAFT,RTR -Real Time Rails) and ISO 20022 regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with Canadian compliance and risk management frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies-Familiarity continuous integration and deployment processes.

Nice to haves

• Experience in performance and load testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, VBScript) for test automation
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
