Our public sector healthcare client is seeking a Cyber Security Architect (10+ years) to lead security architecture and strategy across Azure Cloud, VMware Cloud Foundation, and Microsoft Defender platforms

Join a high-impact initiative enhancing the security posture of enterprise health digital platforms. This role defines and communicates strategic security architecture across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems and data. The position drives multi-year domain roadmaps, architectural standards, and adoption of modern defense strategies within a complex healthcare environment.

Must Haves

• Minimum 5 years in security architecture or enterprise cybersecurity roles
• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and Microsoft Defender security capabilities
• Experience building security domain roadmaps, reference architectures, and security standards
• Hold one or more certifications: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, or CISM
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related discipline

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing hybrid cloud and multi-platform security architectures
• Knowledge of Zero Trust and defense-in-depth models
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, PHIPA, NIST, or ISO/IEC 27001
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on security architecture and risk strategies

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage multi-year Security Domain roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy
• Evaluate existing security architectures and recommend improvements
• Define and maintain security architecture standards, controls, and reference architectures
• Provide architectural leadership for security across Azure Cloud and VCF environments
• Define security design principles for hybrid cloud platforms
• Drive adoption of Zero Trust and defense-in-depth strategies
• Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Defender capabilities, including threat protection and posture management
