We’re looking for an experienced Cyber Program Manager to support and lead a high-impact cybersecurity program within a municipal government. This role functions much like a Chief of Staff - running daily operations, managing a large team, and serving as a trusted advisor to the program lead.

You’ll need strong political awareness, experience in IT or cybersecurity, and the ability to manage sensitive issues, people, and priorities in a complex municipal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the program lead by managing 20-30 team members and overseeing day-to-day delivery.
  • Handle sensitive issues and high-priority items that can’t be passed to technical staff.
  • Coordinate follow-ups, action items, and ensure smooth team operations.
  • Navigate political aspects of the role and build relationships across departments and leadership.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and drive cybersecurity and IT program initiatives across the municipality.
  • Share best practices with other municipalities and ensure alignment.

Must Haves:
  • Experience in the public sector (municipal experience required)
  • 7+ years in program management, with at least 3 years in a Chief of Staff-type or leadership role.
  • Background in IT or cybersecurity projects.
  • Strong communication, organization, and political awareness.
  • Confidence managing large teams and complex priorities.
