Position: BI Manager to oversee the entire BI process (data collection, analysis, reporting, visualization)

Duration: Permanent Full-Time

Location: Hybrid Toronto 4x per week on-site


Job Overview:

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager, you will be responsible for investment team data management, managing the enterprise data warehouse, and supporting the company’s reporting, and analytical efforts using advanced data analytics tools, especially Microsoft Power BI. Your primary role will be to oversee the entire BI process, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and visualization to generate actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions. You will ensure the business leverages data effectively to drive growth and improve operations.


Must Haves:

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report building.
  • Advanced Microsoft Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and reporting.
  • Advanced MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros) and other financial analysis tools.
  • Experience working with financial systems, ERP platforms (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, Business Central), and CRM (e.g., Dynamics).
  • SQL for data manipulation and extraction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. BI Reporting & Dashboarding:
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports to track key financial and operational metrics.
  • Integrate various data sources into BI tools, ensuring data accuracy and consistency for analysis.
  • Automate data collection and reporting processes for more efficient and real-time analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in BI reports.
  • Provide training and support to end users on using BI tools.
  • Keep up to date with the latest BI tools, features and trends.
  1. Data Management, Analysis & Insights:
  • Ensure effective integration of data from CRM, ERP, accounting platforms, and other databases into BI tools.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with other teams to gather relevant data and insights for more comprehensive reporting.
  • Identify and implement data sources, both internal and external, to support analysis.
  • Manage subscriptions and user access to data, tools, and insights.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for system enhancements and improvements.
  1. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
  • Partner with various departments (e.g., Investment Teams, Portfolio Management, Accounting, Business Development, etc.) to ensure data is aligned with business needs.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and materials, including weekly, monthly or quarterly financial summaries, investor reports, etc.
