Summary

Responsible for examining financial records, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with policies, legal regulations, and contract requirements to maintain operational integrity. This role involves reviewing internal controls, detecting errors or fraud, and reporting findings to management.


Role Deliverables

  • Ensuring company activities comply with regulations and internal policies.
  • Developing audit plans, conducting post-payment audits, and reviewing financial records to verify accuracy.
  • Preparing detailed reports on findings, non-conformances, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Evaluating operational and financial risks and maintaining risk registers.
  • Tracking the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure gaps are closed.


Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business preferred
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CPA, CFE, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, internal controls, project accounting
  • Experience working with collaborative contracts, with preference for Alliance or IPD, and demonstrated understanding of:
  • Contractual requirements: Deep knowledge of alliance-specific commercial models, particularly "open-book" accounting and the mechanics of Target Outturn Cost (TOC) and "pain/gain" shared risk-reward regimes.
  • Cost verification: Auditing "defined costs" (direct costs and project-specific overheads) to ensure they are legitimate and allowable under the contract
  • Performance evaluation: Assessing whether the alliance has achieved its stated performance targets and key result areas.
  • Compliance and risk management: Identifying potential risks, ensuring adherence to the contractual framework, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Process integrity: Reviewing the selection process and commercial framework, especially in the development phase of the alliance.


Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Specialized audit software)
  • Other Skills (list any other skills important to this role: interpersonal, organizational, time management, ability to adapt to change etc)
  • Strong ability to analyze data from varied sources (claims, records, reports).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to leadership.
