Location: Hybrid/Toronto (2 days a week on site) - May Convert to 4 in the Future
Duration: 6 Months (Must Convert to Perm)
Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Salary Range: 90-110k
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Senior Developer with deep expertise in Service Mapping, Configuration Management, and Service Relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow service maps and relationships from Configuration Item (CI) to Business Services, ensuring alignment with organizational standards, security requirements, and development best practices. This role collaborates closely with other ServiceNow development labs and teams to implement a Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and integrates service mapping outputs across multiple modules to drive operational intelligence and service-aware IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Service Mapping definitions and patterns to accurately model business services and their dependencies.
• Manage configuration item (CI) relationships from infrastructure and applications to business services, ensuring service maps are accurate, up to date and service aware. Working with the CMDB team to ensure configuration items and the discovery process are accurate for service mapping requirements.
• Collaborate with other ServiceNow development teams to implement and maintain the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) across ITOM, ITSM, ITBM, and other modules.
• Work with module developers (Incident, Change, Problem, Event Management, ITBM, etc) to integrate service mapping outputs into other processes and reports.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain existing service maps and related CI relationships for accuracy and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers in Service Mapping best practices.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions
• Document all service mapping patterns, development work, and integrations in accordance with IT governance policies.
• Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates, ITOM capabilities, and Service Mapping innovations to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications
• 3-5 years of ServiceNow development experience, including ITOM/Service Mapping expertise.
• Strong understanding of CMDB principles, CI relationships, and service-oriented architecture
• Proven experience with Service Mapping, Discovery, Event Management and ITOM modules
• Deep understanding of Common Service Data Model implementation and governance
• Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management) and their integration with ITOM and Service Mapping.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, etc).
• Knowledge of security best practices and development standards in ServiceNow
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in ITOM or related modules preferred
Preferred Skills
• Expertise integration ServiceNow with external monitoring, asset and discovery tools.
• Understanding of service-level metrics, SLOs/SLIs, SLAs and how they tie to service mapping.
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines for ServiceNow and change control automation.
• Experience with cloud-based services and hybrid IT environments.
