The Sr developer will be part of a high-impact e-commerce team driving the growth of well-established Canadian brands. This role offers the opportunity to apply your VTEX expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on innovation and excellence in digital retail.
Our Expectations
Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will work within a SCRUM team using an Agile methodology to design, develop, and deploy robust e-commerce solutions on the VTEX IO platform, supporting the rona.ca website. The role also includes supporting and maintaining these solutions in production.
Your Role
Design and recommend technical solutions to meet business needs on the VTEX IO platform
Take part in the entire development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production deployment
Develop and customize VTEX IO apps (Store Framework, IO apps) and integrate VTEX APIs (Catalog, Checkout, Order Management, etc.)
Ensure high standards of technical quality and collaborate with UX, Product, and QA teams
Participate in system testing, deployment planning, and execution
Troubleshoot, debug, and document issues in production and non-production environments
What We’re Looking For
Hands-on experience with VTEX IO platform, including app development, CMS customization, and API integrations
5+ years of experience with ReactJS, Node.js, or NextJS, with a solid understanding of micro frontend architecture
Proven experience building or extending API's
Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), including DOM manipulation and asynchronous operations
Experience with libraries such as Redux, Immutable.js, and familiarity with RESTful APIs
Knowledge of front-end build tools, CI/CD pipelines, linters, and bundlers
Strong HTML5, CSS3, and CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS)
Understanding of browser compatibility issues and responsive design
SEO best practices in the context of e-commerce platforms
Agile/Scrum methodology experience
Experience with development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Visual Studio Code, SonarQube
Bonus: Experience with React Native, or GoLang
Strong interpersonal and time management skills
