Job Description
The Building maintenance manager plays a key role in ensuring the proper functioning of the facilities. In a primarily hands-on role, they oversee the daily upkeep of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas, while also handling certain coordination and administrative follow-up responsibilities. Their time is approximately divided as follows: 70% technical interventions, 30% management and planning tasks.

Responsibilities (by area)

1. Technical Interventions and User Support – 70%

  • Respond efficiently to internal service calls from various departments.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks: repairs, adjustments, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  • Understand ventilation, plumbing, electrical, heating, and refrigeration systems.
  • Carry out minor carpentry, painting, assembly, or equipment replacement work.
  • Conduct regular rounds to detect any breakages or potential malfunctions.
  • Maintain outdoor areas: cleaning, surfacing, furniture.
  • Be present and responsive in emergency situations (breakdowns, outages, weather-related issues).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to minimize impact on guest experience.
  • Manage and maintain tools and equipment used on-site.

2. Management, Planning, and Administration – 30%

  • Plan and organize schedules for the maintenance team members.
  • Coordinate and update preventive maintenance calendars.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work and ensure follow-up on timelines, quotes, and quality standards.
  • Use maintenance management tools (e.g., Trello) to track and document tasks.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and suggest optimization measures.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of team members.
  • Ensure that facilities comply with safety and sanitation standards.

Profile Sought

  • Hands-on experience in building maintenance, ideally in a hotel or commercial environment.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in an operational setting.
  • Independence, diligence, and responsiveness.
  • Skilled in professional, solution-oriented communication with internal users (staff).
  • Familiarity with digital tracking tools and the Microsoft Office suite.
