Job Description:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and preventive maintenance of equipment. He or she will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for all departments and plant equipment (stationary machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.);

  • Repair and maintain electric motors, hydraulic pumps, and other production equipment;

  • Collaborate on equipment repair and design projects;

  • Prepare repair and inspection reports;

  • Carry out mechanical work related to equipment, machinery, and other vehicles;

  • Install, align, dismantle, and move fixed industrial machinery according to plans, using hand and power tools;

  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect faults or irregularities;

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as well as programmable controllers;

  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts;

  • Perform welding tasks, if the candidate has the required skills.

    Requirements

  • Vocational diploma in electromechanics or industrial mechanics with training or experience as an electrician, or any other equivalent relevant training combined with experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the industrial field;
  • Knowledge and application of occupational health and safety standards;
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and mechanics;
  • Welding skills (an asset);
  • Resourceful in English;
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team;
  • Manual skills;
  • Resourceful and logical;
  • Good physical condition.
