Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Your Impact

As Team Lead, Mine Training at Red Chris Mine, you’ll lead a team of trainers and oversee the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of technical training for open pit operators. Your work will directly enhance safety, job performance, and operational efficiency through practical, standards-based instruction and digital training tools. This role plays a vital link between training programs and the evolving needs of the operation.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Lead the end-to-end development and execution of technical training programs for open pit mine operators
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of trainers, ensuring high delivery standards and ongoing professional growth
  • Collaborate closely with mine operations, safety, HR, and leadership teams to identify training needs and ensure alignment with site priorities
  • Oversee curriculum design and delivery, incorporating both classroom-based and practical field components
  • Promote innovation in training by leveraging technologies such as MineStar, simulation tools, virtual reality, and digital learning platforms
  • Implement a performance-based training model using KPIs and real-time operational data to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvements
  • Manage scheduling, workforce planning, and trainer coverage to ensure efficient and cost-effective training delivery
  • Ensure all programs comply with safety regulations, mining legislation, and company policies
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, training matrices, and audit-ready training records
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and operational excellence across the site
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in training, adult learning, or mining an asset)
  • Current Mines Supervisor Certification will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in open pit mining operations with at least 2 years in a leadership or training role
  • Proven track record in building and delivering mine site training strategies in a complex operational environment
  • Strong working knowledge of mine safety regulations, adult learning principles, and competency-based training frameworks
  • Technical proficiency in training platforms and tools including Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, SAP SuccessFactors, and MS Office 365
  • Experience using Power BI or similar data tools to monitor training outcomes and make data-informed decisions
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to adapt training to a diverse workforce and promote an inclusive and respectful learning environment
Your Work Environment
  • Location: Red Chris Mine (fly-in/fly-out role)

  • Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

  • Conditions: Onsite in a remote, industrial mining environment

  • Requirements: Must pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test, and comply with PPE and safety protocols

The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
