Purpose

To support site maintenance and services operations through the safe and efficient operation of site service vehicles, including septic, hydro‑vac, and other service trucks, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements at site and camp.

Accountabilities

To support site maintenance and services operations through the safe and efficient operation of site service vehicles, including septic, hydro‑vac, and other service trucks, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements at site and camp.

Key Relationships

Reporting to Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Site Service Vehicle Operations

  • Safely operate site service vehicles to support maintenance and service activities across site and camp, including septic, hydro‑vac, water, and gravel trucks.
  • Perform daily pre‑operational inspections and operate equipment in accordance with site procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and safety requirements.
  • Support septic, waste handling, and hydro‑vac activities as required for site services and maintenance tasks.

Safety, Environmental & Procedural Compliance

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to and adherence with all site safety, environmental, and traffic management policies and procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and report hazards associated with service truck and hydro‑vac operations, including pressurized systems, excavation activities, and environmental exposure.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required safety training.
  • Respond appropriately to spills, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions in accordance with site procedures.

Work Management & Systems

  • Use computer systems to complete work orders, equipment records, troubleshooting feedback, and shift turnover notes.
  • Accurately input timesheets, material usage, equipment information, and completed work orders electronically via SAP or other assigned systems.

Team & Site Support

  • Assist with general site maintenance, service support, and labouring activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with site maintenance and services personnel, trades, and other departments to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities and site service schedules.
Qualifications

Required

  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of related experience operating service or heavy trucks in an industrial, construction, or mining environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in extreme and remote weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once familiar with job requirements.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and teamwork.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred / Considered an Asset

  • Experience operating septic, hydro‑vac, or vacuum truck equipment.
  • Experience in a remote site or camp environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP or computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

The expected hourly rate for this role is CA$$43.90 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
