A career as a Manager, Financing Solutions within the Commercial Banking and Private Banking 1859 team involves acting as a commercial credit expert in close collaboration with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers. The role focuses on credit analysis and financing structuring in support of SME and mid market clients. This position does not include client portfolio ownership or business development responsibilities.

The Role
- Perform high quality commercial credit analyses in accordance with Credit Centre standards.
- Structure credit applications, including financial analysis, cash flow assessment, debt servicing capacity, collateral review, and identification of key risks.
- Develop financing scenarios that meet client needs while aligning with the Bank’s risk appetite and credit policies.
- Participate in assessing client financing needs in collaboration with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers.
- Liaise with the Credit Centre to validate credit parameters and confirm the feasibility of proposed financing structures.
- Incorporate feedback from Relationship Managers on preliminary credit applications and ensure compliance prior to submission to the Credit Centre.
- Contribute to the preparation of credit documentation and maintain accurate and up to date client credit files in collaboration with account support teams.
- Act as a credit resource for internal partners and support knowledge sharing related to commercial credit.
- Identify risks inherent to sector activities and contribute to proactive risk management.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, combined with a minimum of three years of experience in commercial lending or business credit analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
- Solid understanding of commercial credit principles and debt servicing capacity.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in both English and French required for the Ottawa market.
