As a Director, Credit Execution in Technology and Innovation group and in collaboration with your colleagues, you play a leading role in the strategic support of companies across Canada. Your varied and complex tasks will allow you to quickly become a trusted advisor to companies that are transforming the world and to support their financing projects ($1 to +$220M).
Your job:
Portfolio & Credit Management
- Manage a portfolio of financing relationships with technology companies, ensuring strong credit quality and adherence to internal policies.
- Perform monthly credit verifications and prepare ongoing reporting for the Head of Execution and Vice President, Technology & Innovation Banking.
- Support the Director in daily credit activities, including covenant monitoring, credit structuring, amendments, annual reviews, new credit requests, increases and refinancing
- Review loan documentation such as credit agreements, ISDA and term sheets to ensure they conform to credit adjudicated parameters.
- Structure and present well articulated credit files and prepare high‑quality submissions for Credit Risk adjudication, ensuring accuracy and a “first‑time‑right” standard with the oversight of the Head of Execution.
- Coordinate with internal partners including the Credit Risk Director, Risk Management Solutions, Account Officers, and Operations to ensure diligent monitoring and effective credit controls.
Advisory, Structuring & Risk Mitigation
- Serve as a credit resource and coach within your deal team, working closely with the Head of Execution to continuously enhance portfolio credit quality.
- Participate in the development of sector‑specific credit strategies and guidelines in collaboration with the Head of Execution and Vice President.
- Identify financial risks associated with financing structures and provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate them.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of market appetite and credit‑structuring developments to proactively design financing solutions that drive the group’s strategic growth objectives
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in client meetings and assist in presenting financing solutions and term sheets.
- Engage in negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, including legal advisors, the credit department, syndication teams, other financial institutions, customers, and prospects.
- Utilize credit risk and profitability assessment tools to ensure compliance with funding standards, risk management policies, and regulatory requirements.
Basic requirements:
- Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and 7 years of relevant experience OR completed Master's degree, related to the industry, and 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in complex trade credit, acquisition loans and knowledge of business products and services
- Experience analyzing complex financial models
- Experience in customer service, negotiation and business development
- Ability to manage priorities and timelines
- Interpersonal skills and team player
- Knowledge of capital market debt instruments an asset
- Experience in syndicated financing an asset
