Role Mission

As a Building Mechanical Technologist, you will play a key role at the heart of our integrated approach by actively contributing to the design, coordination, and drafting of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.). Working closely with engineers, architects, and project teams, you will help develop efficient, optimized technical solutions aligned with construction realities, budget objectives, and operational requirements-directly contributing to the quality and performance of A+ projects.

Key Responsabilities :
  • Participate in the design and development of building mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, fire protection).

  • Produce and update technical drawings, plans, and details using specialized software (AutoCAD, Revit/BIM).

  • Perform basic technical calculations (airflows, thermal loads, preliminary sizing).

  • Ensure interdisciplinary coordination (architecture, structural, electrical) and clash detection, particularly in a BIM environment.

  • Verify compliance of plans with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (Building Code, CSA, ASHRAE, etc.).

  • Prepare technical specifications, equipment lists, and tender documents.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and design reviews.

  • Respond to technical questions throughout the project and support the team during construction.

  • Conduct site visits as needed to ensure work complies with plans and specifications.

Job requirements
  • College diploma (DEC) in Building Mechanical Technology or a related field.

  • Member of or eligible for membership in the OTPQ (an asset).

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and rigor.

  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
