As a Business Governance Associate in the Asset-Liability Management and Investments - Capital Markets team at National Bank you’ll be at the heart of the strategic and operational reality of asset management across various internal investment platforms. With your analytical mindset and knowledge of business processes, you will lead workshops to understand the business realities and document them to support strategy deployment, regulatory requirements, and internal governance.
Your Job
- Collaborate with team members to document internal processes using the Capital Markets business capability model.
- Lead workshops and conduct rigorous analyses on key topics, gathering insights from internal and external experts.
- Prepare preliminary assessments to identify business requirements, impacts on business capabilities, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Recommend solutions and propose initiatives aligned with team strategy.
- Contribute to business cases for new projects and support the implementation with Capital Markets partners.
- Handle operational incidents and sensitive information with integrity, confidentiality, and the highest ethical standards.

You’ll report to the Director of Business Governance - ALM and Investments within Capital Markets. The Business Governance team stands out for its dynamism, agility, and deep regulatory and operational knowledge for our various investment platforms, supporting both the organic and strategic growth of the organization.

Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or a related field, plus 4-6 years of relevant experience in capital markets, securities, or asset custody.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, including trading, custody, OTC derivatives and treasury products, systems, processes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with securities financing, settlement, market events, taxation, reconciliations, and payment activities are an asset.
- Proven leadership, autonomy, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities and talent for simplifying complex concepts.
- Ability to draft clear, standardized procedures.
- Agile and proactive, with the capacity to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
