A career as an Associate, Pension Fund and Insurance Risk Monitoring in the Risk Management team at National Bank means playing a key role in managing investment and actuarial risks for pension funds and insurance companies. You will support the team by optimizing existing risk monitoring processes and helping to create risk frameworks.

Your job:

  • Analyze investment policies and risk frameworks for pension funds and insurance companies and monitor them.
  • Provide risk analyses for investment and placement decision-making.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and explain surplus movements for pension funds.
  • Analyze positions and strategies of pension fund and insurance mandates, ensuring they align with risk appetite.
  • Prepare and optimize risk presentations for pension committees and insurance company investment committees.
  • Support stakeholders (front office, accountants, actuaries, auditors, lawyers, IT, etc.).

Within the risk management sector, you are part of a large team of 12 colleagues and report to the Director - Pension Fund and Insurance Risk Monitoring. Prerequisites:

  • University degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or other related studies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in actuarial science and/or risk management.
  • Detailed actuarial knowledge in personal insurance.
  • Actuarial knowledge of pension plan risks.
  • Good knowledge of finance and investment.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python software.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Good communication and simplification skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
