Sr. Finance Analyst, External Financial Reporting

The Opportunity: Boost your career and come join our professional, motivated, and fun-loving finance team working for a Canadian-based public company. Reporting to the Manager, Reporting, you will play a key role in the quarterly and annual close process, financial statement preparation, and legal entity reporting. You will continue to grow your knowledge of external reporting requirements and IFRS as part of the team responsible for preparation of external financial statements and MD&A.

  • Quarterly close for management and external reporting under IFRS
  • Results and variance reporting,
  • Assisting in the period/quarter/year-end close process, including completion of select management reporting schedules & quarter/year-end deliverables;
  • Preparation of journal entries into SAP and Business Planning Consolidation (BPC);
  • Coordinate & consolidate quarterly analyses;
  • Process review and proactive continuous improvement;
  • Key contact for external auditors including preparation of responses to quarterly questions;
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and follow-ups;
  • Assist External Reporting Finance and other functional groups with specific requests or analysis of MCR balances;
  • Perform ad hoc financial accounting analysis and financial reporting as required; and
  • Other duties and special projects, as required.
What Youll Bring:
  • Accounting Designation (CPA);
  • University degree Finance/Accounting;
  • Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner;
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing environment;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Detailed oriented person;
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Strong Excel skills;
  • A manufacturing/CPG (production) background is an asset;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a dedicated team player; and
  • Experience with BPC, BA, and/or SAP is an asset.
