Liquidity Management Trader

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Liquidity Management Trader to join our trading desk in Toronto. This role involves executing money market and repo trades, while actively supporting the Senior Portfolio Manager in managing the firm's liquidity needs. The focus will be on optimizing short-term money market strategies and efficient cash management. The ideal candidate will possess a competent background in repo trading and a deep understanding of financial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute buy side Money Market and Repurchase trades in both U.S. and Canadian markets, ensuring optimal pricing and effective risk management.

  • Support the Senior Portfolio Manager by assisting in the development and execution of trading strategies and liquidity management initiatives.

  • Monitor and analyze market trends and economic indicators to make informed trading and liquidity decisions.

  • Manage collateral efficiently to optimize the use of available resources and support overall trading desk operations.

  • Collaborate with other traders and departments to ensure smooth trade execution and processing.

  • Maintain accurate records of trades and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; a CFA designation or advanced degree is preferred.

  • A Minimum of one year experience in repo and Money market trading, particularly in U.S. and Canadian markets.

  • Strong understanding of short end market fundamentals, collateral management, and financial trading platforms.

  • FX experience is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced trading environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFA or Master’s degree in Finance or Economics.

  • Additional certifications or coursework in finance or related fields.

Our compensation package for this role is a competitive base salary complemented by a variable performance component.

Salary range is expected to be between

$132,000.00 CAD - $231,000.00 CAD
