Description
Reporting to the Director, Inforce Pricing, the Inforce Management Program Specialist will support the Inforce Pricing team in the implementation of various projects largely related to the Canadian Inforce Adjustable Products Repricing Program, but also in support of reviewing and providing governance on Inforce Management system enhancements work that impact the IIC Life Value Stream.
The Program Specialist will add value through collaboration across many business unit and functional unit teams across Canadian Segment to assess issues, analyze risks and develop analysis that will help ensure success to all activity impacting our Inforce blocks with a focus on the Canadian Inforce Adjustable Products Repricing Program.
The Program Specialist will be key in assembling a project team during the Discovery Phase, working with members of the project team, and assigning resources to deliver successful projects that will drive more value from our Inforce blocks.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor two Business Analysts that will assist with below responsibilities.
Manage and provide oversight of the execution of all phases (discovery and delivery) of inforce repricing projects from concept to closure while leveraging project management best practice standards and processes.
Manage client relations to ensure that project discovery and delivery expectations are specified and met.
Create project deliverables for discovery that meet/exceed the project sponsor’s specified expectations and assign project deliverables to the key members and/or experts of the project team to fulfill.
Manage dependencies across the segment teams to ensure that key milestones are met or if needed, facilitate discussions to discuss reprioritization with key stakeholders.
Engage project stakeholders and communicate project updates effectively to ensure buy in and project success (examples: meetings, status updates, issue resolution).
Provide clear direction and motivation to the discovery session teams.
Work with multi-site/virtual project teams.
Develop project plans that effectively align scope, time, cost, quality, resources, risk, communication and procurement in a manner that enables highly coordinated execution and control.
Monitor all projects results for significant deviations and ensure development of contingency plans where necessary.
Successfully identify project risks and manage and escalate as required issues and actions.
Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in operational or business functions.
10+ years of relevant Canadian life insurance experience.
Working knowledge of Canadian life insurance products and the open and closed system assets in insurance.
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and values.
Ability to lead employees and further their development.
Ability to lead the discovery teams and manage and assign project deliverables to cross-functional teams comprised of resources from Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Actuarial, Communications, Marketing, and Sales.
Proven track record of re-thinking financial and project management processes from the ground up.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence or persuade others to adopt a specific course of action.
Experience building project plans and generating and delivering project status reports
Deep understanding of the Canadian Insurance business.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable, handle multiple demands and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Capable self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and streamlining processes.

Salary range is expected to be between
$68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
