Associate Platform Engineer

Observability and Resiliency team is looking for Associate Platform Engineer: specifically, someone who is passionate about building solutions using our existing AI ops tools that makes life better for others, enabling visibility and comprehension of application health and performance; motivated by opportunities to automate processes to improve system reliability and customer experience; to experiment with new technologies and guide others.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with other teams to provide application monitoring strategy

  • Building enhancements within our AI Operations platform

  • Building new application monitors, dashboards, and creative solutions

  • Using problem solving skills in concert with tooling to help uncover application issues and perform root cause analysis

  • Create visibility of our myriad of data and help our partners understand this data

  • Supporting and enhancing our current toolset

  • Promoting reliability engineering within our team and beyond

  • Managing communications with our allies in the business using terms and language that they understand (translating Tech-speak to business language)

  • Maintaining positive relationships with many internal teams

  • Adapting to quickly changing priorities

  • Provides reliable and scalable platform experience to engineers

  • Investigates new platform solutions to enhance service delivery experience

  • Resolves persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams

  • Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to best support testing and deployment in continuous integration/continuous delivery environment

  • Executes scripts based on specifications and standards

  • Documents and executes simple software components of larger architectures

  • Some positive impact to specific organizational entitles

  • Works together in a small team with a common purpose, follows rules from team members

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3+ years’ industry experience working in a technical role in IT

  • Coding experience with NodeJs or JavaScript is required

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting or Python is required

  • Experience with monitoring tools: New Relic, Dynatrace, CA APM, PRTG

  • Experience with AI Operations tooling such as Moogsoft

  • Experience or strong knowledge in AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services) is highly preferred but not a must have

  • You must be data driven and be passionate about using data to advance our effectiveness and enable superb customer experiences

  • You must be self-driven and able to work independently with an appetite for learning

  • A focus and passion for creating excellent customer experiences

  • Clear, concise, tactful communication skills

  • Confidence to challenge and ask hard questions of the wisest of our colleagues, technical teams and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Jenkins, GIT, Microsoft copilot, automation tools

  • Experience with Devo, Azure, PCF, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Integrating monitoring toll Azure, AWS services is nice

  • Experience mentoring and leading by example

  • Understanding of Reliability Engineering and the benefits of it

Salary range is expected to be between

$60,900.00 CAD - $113,100.00 CAD
